Bouldering comps and leagues

Climbers tick. The table adds up.

ClimbTable runs the scoring for your bouldering comps and leagues. Climbers score on their phones from a QR poster, your TV shows the board, and the league table works itself out. No app, no paper scorecards, no adding up.

See it working

A comp night in under a minute

The real app on a sample wall. Climbers tick on their phones, the TV keeps up, and staff fix what needs fixing.

How it works

Nobody stays late to add up.

1. Set it up

Start from a template, or add your round, its problems and your categories. Paste your problem list, or copy last round’s. Pick your format: points with a flash bonus, or tops, then zones, then attempts. Run a test round if you like, then clear it, go live and print the QR poster.

2. Climbers tick

They scan the poster, type their name, pick a category and tick tops, zones and flashes on their phones. No app, no account.

3. The table adds up

The TV rotates through every category live. Across a league, best N of M rounds, ties and countback are worked out for you.

For the people who run comp night

What it does. And nothing else.

No scorecards to collect or add up

Climbers tick tops, zones, flashes and attempts on their phones. The TV updates within a few seconds of a tick.

The league table keeps itself, all season

Pick best N of M rounds, say best 4 of 5. Ties and countback are worked out, and if you change the rule, the table recalculates.

Built for a busy night with weak signal

Ticks wait on the phone and send later. Partner ticks with a 4-digit code, and staff sign-off for finals, in one queue.

Nothing to install, nothing to change at the till

It opens in the phone’s browser from a poster you print. It never takes payments, so your ticketing stays as it is.

Your format, your categories

Points per problem with a flash bonus, shared-pot points that split each problem among everyone who tops it, or ranking by tops, then zones, then attempts. Open, Women’s, Men’s, Under-16, Masters 40+, named your way.

A test run before the night

Test mode marks phones, the TV and printouts TEST and keeps test entrants apart. Clear it and go live when you’re ready.

A paper fallback, if you need one

Printable A4 scoresheets and a results sheet. Staff can enter scores at the desk, and every change is logged.

The board is the event

A full-screen leaderboard for your TV. It rotates through every category, then the league table.

For your setters

See how your problems climbed.

The setter report shows each problem’s top, zone and flash rates, and flags any that nobody topped, that everyone flashed, or that climbed harder or easier than its grade band. It comes with every plan.

Every problem, every round

How many climbers tried each problem, and how often it was topped, zoned and flashed. Per round, or across the whole league.

Flags worth a look

Nobody topped, everyone flashed, or harder or easier than its grade band, so your setters know where to look first.

No names, nothing new to collect

It uses the comp and league results you already have. No climber names and no route logging. Download it as CSV or print it on A4.

What it doesn’t do

Bouldering comps and leagues. That’s all.

No payments.

It never takes entry fees. Keep selling tickets as you do now.

No app.

Climbers scan the poster. There’s nothing to download and no account.

No bookings or route logging.

Your wall already has systems for those.

Bouldering only, for now.

Lead and top-rope comps aren’t scored yet.

Do climbers need to download an app?

No. They scan the QR poster and it opens in their phone’s browser. They type a name and pick a category once, and the phone remembers them. They can add it to their home screen if they like.

Does ClimbTable take entry fees?

No, and it never will. Keep selling tickets through your own system. ClimbTable only does the scoring, the board and the league table.

What if there’s no signal, or the wifi drops?

Ticks are saved on the climber’s phone and send when signal returns, so nobody loses a tick. If the phones can’t be used at all, print the A4 scoresheets from the Print tab, and staff can enter them at the desk. Every staff change is logged: who, when, before and after.

How do you stop people claiming tops they didn’t get?

You can ask for a partner’s tick on every top: the partner enters their 4-digit code on the climber’s phone. For finals, staff sign off each top. Everything waiting shows in one queue.

Can I try it before comp night?

Yes. Switch on test mode and run a round with your staff: phones, the TV and printouts all show a TEST banner, and test scores are kept apart from real results. When you’re happy, press "Clear test data and go live".

We run several walls. Can we use one account?

Yes. Add each wall as a site on one account, at £99$129 per site per month or £950$1,240 per site per year. Your team sees every site.

We only run one or two comps a year. Do we need a plan?

No. Pay £99$129 for that comp instead. It covers the comp’s rounds for 48 hours from its first round opening, so qualifiers and a final on one weekend are one comp. Leagues and regular comps run on the plan, or a league can pay once for its season.

Can one league run across several walls?

Yes. Hold each round at any of your sites, or at another wall, even one that doesn’t use ClimbTable. The TV, climbers’ phones, the posters and the results all show which wall each round is at, and the league table counts every round.

What if a climber turns up with a new phone?

They tap “Get back in on this phone” and enter their name and 4-digit code, and their scores come with them. Their code is on their Me tab, and the desk can look it up. If someone joins twice by mistake, staff merge the two entries, and the change log records it.

We organise a league across several walls. Do we need a plan?

No. Pay £299$389 once for the season. It covers every round, wherever it’s held, until the league’s end date, and at most 6 months from its first round. You pay; the host walls pay nothing and don’t need an account. Your first round is free, as for every wall, and you pay before round 2.

Can climbers see where each problem is?

Yes. Add a floor plan or a photo of your wall and tap to pin each problem. Climbers switch from the list to the map and tap a pin to score it. Move the pins whenever you reset, as often as you like.

Can a problem be worth more when fewer people top it?

Yes. Choose shared-pot scoring: each problem’s points are split among everyone who tops it, so a 1,000-point problem topped by 4 climbers is worth 250 each. Climbers see each problem’s value on their phone as it changes, and the TV and league table use the same numbers. Flash and zone points stay fixed.

Can we run our squads on ClimbTable?

Yes. For regular squad sessions, set up a league with one category per squad and make each session a round: each squad is ranked on its own, and the table adds up each climber’s best sessions over the season. For a one-off squad night, create a comp.

What data does ClimbTable hold?

Names, categories and scores, and an email address only if a climber chooses to add one. No ages, addresses or payment details. The wall decides who takes part, and our privacy notice covers the rest, including under-16s.

What do setters get?

A setter report after every round. It shows how many climbers tried each problem and how often it was topped, zoned and flashed, and it flags problems nobody topped, problems most climbers flashed, and problems that climbed harder or easier than their grade band. Across a league it tracks the same numbers round by round. It uses only your comp and league results, shows no climber names, downloads as CSV and prints on A4. It comes with every plan.

What does it cost?

Every wall’s first comp night is free: the trial runs until 3 days after your first comp night or league round, up to 30 days, and you don’t need a card to start. Then it’s £99$129 per site per month, or £950$1,240 per site per year (save 20%). Only running a one-off comp? Pay £99$129 for that comp instead. Organising a league? Pay £299$389 once for its season.
